8th Grade Dance

The JCCHS 8th Grade Dance is a cherished event that has been established over the years to celebrate our 8th-grade students as they near the end of their middle school journey, while also providing a warm welcome to those who will join us at John Carroll in the fall.

Important Details and Support Request:

The dance is open to all 8th-grade students currently enrolled in our Diocesan Partner Schools, regardless of their plans to attend John Carroll in the fall of 2026.
It is also open to students who have been accepted to JCCHS as freshmen for the fall of 2026, including those from outside our Partner School community.
Guests from schools outside the Diocese may not attend, except for those who have been accepted to JCCHS as freshmen in the fall of 2026.
Attendees may not bring guests from other grades; this dance is exclusively for 8th-grade students.
The dress code for the event is Sunday Best.
Tickets will be priced at $10 and will soon be available for purchase through GoFan.
Upon arrival, students must show their ticket on their phone, where their name will be verified by one of our parent volunteers.

We would like to clarify to students and parents that this event is not intended to be an "8th Grade Prom." Instead, it closely resembles the dances hosted by our Partner Schools throughout the year for middle school students. Parent volunteers will provide drinks and cookies, and there will be music to enjoy.

Once a student has received their Acceptance the next step is to Enroll! Plus, don't miss out on the savings!

$250 Early Enrollment Fee: Now through February 16

$300 Regular Enrollment Fee: February 17 - May 4

$400 Late Enrollment Fee: Beginning May 5

Tuition Assistance

Families interested in applying for JCCHS Tuition Assistance (Financial Aid) must submit a new application each year (JC Tuition Assistance does not renew automatically). To be considered, please ensure you complete the application annually.

Important Requirement

If your family plans to apply for JC Tuition Assistance, you are required to also apply for the Alabama CHOOSE Act scholarship. There is one exception - families not currently living in the State of Alabama do not have to complete The CHOOSE Act application.

You do not have to be awarded CHOOSE Act funding, but you must submit a CHOOSE Act application to be considered for JC Tuition Assistance.

Easy Application Through FACTS

The CHOOSE Act application process is quick and easy to complete through FACTS; the same system our families already use for tuition and financial aid.

When applying, you will simply:

Log in to your FACTS account
Select the CHOOSE Act application
Complete the required information and upload any requested documents

The CHOOSE Act provides eligible families with Education Savings Accounts that can be used toward private school tuition, helping support families pursuing private education.

Both applications must be completed by: March 31,2026

Dear Class of 2030,

Thank you to everyone who was with us on Thursday, February 5 at the Class of 2030 Curriculum Night! It was a great turnout and we enjoyed getting to spend time with you all! If you were unable to attend, no worries! We will be mailing your student's Course Request Form to you and we have added the presentation from the night to the Class of 2030 webpage for your convenience.

Next Steps?

Once you have reviewed the Course Request Form you will need to return it to JCCHS using any of the following options below. All forms need to be returned by Friday, March 20.

Summer Reading Assignments

Cavs In Service

Before the end of 1st quarter, students in 10th-12th grade Theology classes will be

assigned a project that requires students to be up-to-date on their service hours in order to complete. Additionally, the completion of 75 service hours is a John Carroll graduation requirement.

The first set of hours (15 hours) can be completed during or after Freshman year, and are due no later than September 1st of their Sophomore year. The second set of hours (30 additional hours, 45 total) must be completed and approved by September 1st of their Junior year. The third set of hours (30 additional hours as the completion of 75 total hours) must be completed and approved by September 1st of their senior year.

Fulfilling the minimum number of service hours each year is required to graduate from John Carroll Catholic High School.
