Families across Alabama are empowered to build the stronger futures they want for their children and guide them to the joy-filled lives of purpose God intends for them, through greater access to Catholic education provided by the passage of The CHOOSE Act Alabama.
Signed into law by Governor Kay Ivey on March 7, 2024, the CHOOSE Act makes refundable income tax credits available in an educational savings account (ESA) to pay up to $7,000 of tuition and other qualifying educational expenses.
The CHOOSE Act Alabama has announced the application timeline for the 2026-2027 academic year.
- Renewing family applications start on December 15, 2025, and end on March 31, 2026.
- New family applications start on January 2, 2026, and end on March 31, 2026.
- Renewing families must actively apply; renewals are not automatic.
- ALL John Carroll families are encouraged to apply.
