Involvement Opportunities
March for Life
Every year, John Carroll students participate in the Birmingham March for Life, a peaceful protest that seeks to end abortion and support the dignity of life in our community.
The March for Life usually takes place around the 2nd Saturday in January. The day begins with the diocesan Respect Life Mass at the Cathedral of St. Paul, with a prayer vigil and witness for life outside of Planned Parenthood. All students are invited to attend.

Retreat Leadership
All grade-level class retreats are led by our team of campus ministry student leaders. Applications for campus ministry open early spring semester and all sophomores and juniors are welcome to apply. The process includes a written application, an in-person interview, and two teacher recommendations. If chosen, campus ministers are required to take the campus ministry class as one of their electives the following school year.
Additionally, both the Kairos and Metanoia retreats are led by students who have previously participated on the retreat. It is not necessary to be a campus ministry student leader to apply to lead either of these retreats. After attending the retreat, the application for leadership roles will be emailed to participants via their JC email.
Contact Ms. King at aking@jcchs.org for more information.
Carroll Students Modeling Christ [CSMC]
Carroll Students Modeling Christ (CSMC) is the oldest service club at John Carroll (60 years and going strong) and is a rich part of the school's tradition and history. CSMC sponsors the Christmas in Autumn fundraiser (benefiting the Catholic Centers for Concern) and the annual Queen of Hearts fundraiser and dance.
In 2022 the Queen of Hearts fundraiser and dance brought in almost $50K dollars! These monies benefit local, state and national organizations.
