John Carroll Catholic High School Welcomes Dr. Korliss Datcher as New Student Counselor

John Carroll Catholic High School is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Korliss Datcher as the new Student Counselor for 9th and 10th grades, succeeding Mrs. Julie Meadows ('76) who served in a similar role for over 30 years.

Dr. Datcher brings a wealth of experience, having served this past year as a Psychology Teacher and Co-Curricular Specialist at John Carroll. Her impressive qualifications include a B.S. in Biology from Stillman College, an MBA in Marketing from American InterContinental University, and a PhD in Psychology from Walden University.

Dr. Datcher possesses over ten years of experience in student counseling and job/college placement at the collegiate level, having worked at Fortis Institute as an Externship Coordinator and as a Career Transition Specialist with the Job Corps. Additionally, she has over four years of advocacy experience for students, staff, and families within an educational setting at Advent Episcopal School.

“I am honored to step into this position and continue the vital work that Ms. Meadows has accomplished over the years. My goal is to support students in ways that help them feel confident, capable, and prepared for their future endeavors. I am particularly excited to work with our 9th and 10th-grade students as they transition into high school, assisting them in adjusting academically, socially, and personally, so they feel connected and supported from the outset. I am grateful to be part of a community that truly values the success and well-being of every student,” said Dr. Korliss Datcher.

“We are grateful to have Dr. Datcher step into the school counselor role for 9th and 10th grades. She has already demonstrated a deep commitment to our students and a genuine care for their holistic growth. Dr. Datcher brings professionalism, wisdom, and creativity to our school, and her presence will continue to strengthen the support we provide to our students during these important early years of high school. I am confident she will build upon the strong foundation established by Mrs. Meadows and continue serving our community with excellence,” stated Mr. Ronald Steele (‘04), Principal.
