Mike Bouton '73 Named Director of Alumni Relations
We are excited to announce that John Carroll Catholic High School alum and longtime teacher, Mike Bouton, has been named the new Director of Alumni Relations! After graduating from John Carroll in 1973, Mike received a B.A. in Social Welfare from Loyola University of New Orleans. From 1982-1985 he served as the John Carroll Campus Minister. He was Youth Minister at St. Peter’s as well as St. Francis Xavier. From 1985-1988 he was the Campus Minister at Bishop Miege High School in Roeland Park, Kansas. He returned to John Carroll in 1992 after getting his M. Ed. in Agency Counseling at UAB and has been teaching Theology here ever since. In his years at John Carroll, Mike has moderated many clubs and supervised several activities including the senior recycling program, Frisbee Club, Vredenburgh mission trips, the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute senior theology field trip, National Honor Society, Amnesty International, and the Eastern Rites junior class field trip. In addition, he coached the 1996 Girls’ State Championship Indoor Track team and throughout the years he also coached cross-country, track, freshman boys basketball, and varsity girls basketball. Mike’s family has a rich history with John Carroll. His mother, Claire Scalise ‘49, two siblings Pammy ‘74 and Chris ‘76, and two children, Will ‘14 and Brooke ‘17 also graduated from John Carroll. We look forward to the wonderful work he will continue to do here at JCCHS.
