The WBRC FOX6 News Rising Star sponsored by America’s First Credit Union is a program set up to highlight star students at Central Alabama area high schools. Students must be nominated by the principal, counselor or teacher at the school and must meet certain criteria. Nominees must be star students who are serving in their community, participating in extracurricular activities and maintaining a 3.0 GPA or better. There will be 30 weekly winners, who will be highlighted on WBRC FOX6 News. Those 30 students will then compete for one of five $5,000 scholarships (to be awarded by America’s First Credit Union).
John Carroll Catholic High School senior, Sarah Pepe, has been selected as one of the 30 weekly winners and will compete for one of the five $5,000 scholarships! Sarah has a 4.13 GPA, is a member of the National Honor Society, a member of the SportsLeadership Club, a Campus Minister, a Catechist for people with special needs, and an active community volunteer. Sarah is the daughter of Lynn and John Pepe and lives in Helena.
Your John Carroll community is very proud of you Sarah! Good luck!
