JCCHS Announces Hiring of New Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach!

John Carroll is proud to announce that Coach Matt Kirkpatrick has been hired as the new head varsity girls basketball coach!  

Coach Kirkpatrick comes to John Carroll from The Altamont School, where he has served as head girls basketball and head girls soccer coach since 2008.  Also during that time he was a faculty member and the school's Head Athletic Trainer.  Additionally, he served as Dean of the 7th and 8th grade boys from 2015-2017. 

While at Altamont, Coach Kirkpatrick's girls basketball teams won 10 Area Championships, and made 5 Sweet Sixteen and 2 Elite Eight appearances.  In 2020 he was named Alabama Private School Coach of the Year. 

Coach Kirkpatrick graduated from Central Methodist University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2000, and from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2003 with a Master of Arts in Education.
