Advanced Algebra II  
 
Advanced Algebra II
Teacher:  Mrs. Shyamoli Ghosal
Textbook:  Glencoe Algebra 2 –Integration Application Connections
Materials needed:
  1. Scientific calculator
  2. A spiral or ring binder notebook. All class notes, classwork and homework will be done in this notebook. Keep all tests, quizzes & handouts in the binder.
  3. Loose-leaf paper for quizzes and tests.
  4. Pencils and erasers. All work must be done in pencil.
  5. Graph papers and colored pencils
It is your responsibility to come to class with all  of these materials. You will not be allowed to return to your locker for forgotten materials.
 
Homework:  Homework will be given daily. It will be done in pencil on loose-leaf paper and kept in your binder. Will receive credit for Homework if a genuine effort (show some work) is made to solve the problems.
Notebook/Binder: All classwork, class-notes and homework must be kept in your binder. It is important for you to be able to study from your notes. Neatness and good organizations are essentials.
Quizzes: May begiven at any time. They will cover homework and material recently covered in class.
Tests: There will be 3 to 4 tests per quarter. These tests will be announced at least 2 days in advance.
Quarter Grade: Determined by averaging total points.
Semester Exam: There will be a cumulative semester exam given at the end of each semester. This exam will be discussed and outlined at a later time.
Absences: It is the student’s responsibility to see me about make-up work/tests for excused absences. The length of time you have to complete the work is stated in the handbook. All make up tests will be given before school (@ Mr. Bouton’s Rm 209 on Tues, Wed or Thurs from 7:00-7:40a.m), after school or during study hall. It is the student’s responsibility to set up a time to make up the test.
Calculators: You may not have anything stored in the memory of the calculator that you could not have on a piece of paper out on your desk during the test. If you are using the calculator then you are responsible for what is in the memory.
Teacher Availability & Tutoring: I will be available to you for extra help on the following afternoons: Tues, Wed and Thurs from 3:15 to 4:00p.m @ Rm 219. If these times do not meet your schedule, we will find an alternate time. Mu Alpha Theta has a tutoring workshop for any student. Time and Location will be announced in class and will be posted in the school Web-site.
Suggestions:          Be prepared! Bring all materials to class each day.
                                    Take good notes, particularly any examples worked out in class.
                                    Do your Homework daily.
