¨      Pens, pencils, colored pencils
¨      Notebook
¨      Highlighter
¨      Folder (separate or attached to notebook) or three ring binder
¨      Loose-leaf paper
¨      Good attitude
¨      Laboratory materials will be provided, but students may be asked to collect samples or to voluntarily bring in items which will be specified.
 
Goals & Objectives For Biology:
¨      To understand the underlying principles of biology
¨      To understand and to participate in the scientific method
¨      To become more aware of how science effects all of us
¨      To further develop independent learning skills
¨      To become more proficient in writing and problem solving
 
Homework:
 
Students will be given assignments on a regular basis.  Some assignments will come from questions in the text and others will come from optional homework assignments for extra credit.
 
Required Projects:
 
Various individual and group projects related to biology will be assigned throughout the year.

C.                 To study the principles of human physiology and to gain a greater understanding of the fundamental similarities of all forms of life.
D.                 To investigate some basic principles of earth and physical science to help gain a working knowledge and understanding of the importance of science in everyday experiences.
E.                  To develop a respect for the fragile balance between the animals and plant s in our world and to begin to accept our responsibility to preserve this universe for others.
