Bienvenue au monde français! Welcome to French! I am very much looking forward to being your instructor this year! Here are some general guidelines for our class.
I. Objectives – To encourage comprehension and communication in French by listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Much of our time will be spent doing “hands on” activities so please come to class prepared to work and participate.
II. General Information.
A. Grade breakdown
Tests 55%
Quizzes 20%
Homework and Participation 25%
100%
B. In general, opportunity for extra credit will be minimal. However, it is available in the following instances:
1. coming to class prepared, on time, and remaining on task the entire period
2. occasional assignments chosen by the teacher
C. All JCCHS policies and procedures will be upheld and enforced. Please reference your Student Hand Book, especially in regards to make-up work. In the event that you have an excused absence on a testing day, you must sign the calendar for a make-up time, including the time you intend to make up the work.
D. Seating arrangements will be decided by the teacher.
III. Daily Routine
A. Upon entering class, please deposit your homework in the IN box found on the side of the teacher’s cabinet. Make sure you deposit into the box for your class.
B. Assignments for the beginning of class will be posted on the dry erase boards, please begin as soon as you enter the classroom.
C. Your homework grade will be determined by your effort (that should make this an easy way for you to accumulate points, so please make sure you do your assignment every night.)
D. Late homework will not be accepted. All work must be fully completed to receive credit.
IV. Family Involvement – Many researchers show a direct correlation between a child’s parental involvement and academic success. Parents are welcome to contact me with any questions or concerns.
V. The instructor reserves the right to revise any of the above policies if necessary.
VI. Supplies: You will need the following supplies: 3 ring binder, paper, dividers, two different color pens
