11th Grade Month -To- Month Calendar
 
       SEPTEMBER
 
          Attend college fair at the BJCC
  • OCTOBER
  •   Attend John Carroll College Fair on October 8 at 7pm
  • Get a notebook to keep all college information organized
  • Take advantage of college rep visits to JCCHS
  • Prepare for the PSAT
  • Prepare for and take the February ACT

 

  • JANUARY-MARCH
  • Attend College Planning Panel February 26 @ 7:00 p.m. in the library
  • Turn in a transcript release form
  • Turn in a student brag sheet and parent questionnaire.
  • Attend and encourage parents to attend all college information programs
  • Prepare for the ACT and/or  SAT by taking a prep class or study on your own.
  • Register for the ACT and/or SAT I
  • Watch for meaningful summer enrichment programs that may interest you
  • Plan a challenging senior year.  Take the hardest courses in which you are capable of succeeding.


APRIL
  • Begin your college visits
  • Explore your Early Decision / Early Action options
  • Register for and take the ACT and / or SATI at least once by June
  • Develop a resume and turn one in to Mrs. Kok


    MAY
  • Take AP Exams if applicable
  • Register for the ACT and / or SAT I administered in June
  • Be sure your resume` is on file in the college counseling office
  • Seek out and apply to summer programs
  • Ask teachers for recommendations

JUNE

  • Take the SAT I and / or the ACT again
  • Continue your college search
  • Arrange college visits and / or interviews
  • Review your transcript
  • If you have the credentials for admission and plan to apply to in-state colleges, apply now

SUMMER

  • Do something EXTRAORDINARY!
  • Make appointment to see the college counselor on your own or with your parents if you need help or have questions
  • Visit colleges and interview
