Team Information:
Practice Schedule
Practice will begin each day at 4:00 and end by 6:00 each day at Verterans Park. Parents who pick up their student after practice must meet in the parking lot inbetween Jeff State and Hoover Green House.
All athletes should bring proper attire to practice. This includes T-shirt, shorts, sweatshirt, sweat pants, and training shoes.
Inclement Weather:
In the event of inclement weather, the coaching staff will determine the status of practice. This decision will be made as soon as possible, on the day of practice.
The athletic director and principal may elect to cancel practices at any time they feel is in the best interest of the athletes/students. Cold and rain do not automatically cancel practice.
Attendance:
Attendance at practice is mandatory for all members of the JCCHS Cross-Country Team. Roll will be taken each day at the beginning of practice. The head coach will use school definitions to determine excused and unexcused absences. Athletes should bring a note or schools admit slip when returning from an absence. Unexcused absences will result in disciplinary action.
When scheduling tutoring, doctor/dental appointments, etc., team members should try to work around the cross-country team schedule. This does not imply that students should miss instead of practice. Instead, the parent and student should attempt to schedule appointments on students holidays, early release days, and non-practice days when possible.
Tardy Policy:
Unexcused tardiness is negative for the team. Thus, individual unexcused tardies will result in (but not limited to) team push-ups, bleacher running, and trash detail. Multiple unexcused tardiness can result in suspension from meets and/or possibly from the team. If at all possible, let the coaching staff know if you are to be late for any reason.
