Welcome to John Carroll Catholic High School admissions page. Here prospective students will find the necessary information needed to seek admission to JCCHS.

 

John Carroll Catholic High School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to each student at the school. To Apply For Admission

 

  • Contact the JCCHS Office of Admissions at (205) 940-2400, ext. 227 to schedule a placement test ($35) and seek answers to any of your questions concerning the admission process.  Click here 2008 Placement Test Registration.

 

  • After testing, you will receive a registration packet. Complete and return the packet to the Office of Admissions. Registration Packet includes an Application Form, Parish Verification Form (Catholic students), Release of Records Form and Student Directory and Course Selection Forms. A registration fee of $250 needs to be included with the packet.

 

  • Complete the FACTS Tuition forms.

 

 

Admissions Criteria


Each applicant is thoroughly reviewed to ensure John Carroll Catholic High School fits the needs of the applicant. Through a selective admissions process, we base our decisions on these criteria:

 

  • Overall middle school record (academic, behavioral and attendance)
  • Recommendations of middle school principal and teachers
  • Results of the Placement Test
  • Applicant’s commitment to John Carroll Catholic High School

 

It is highly recommended that an applicant for the 9th grade take the placement test as early as possible to ensure inclusion in the upcoming freshmen class. Applicants whose forms are not complete will go on a waiting list.

Transfer Students

 

Thank you for your interest concerning a transfer to John Carroll Catholic High School. John Carroll accepts transfer students as space permits. Senior transfers are not accepted (unless the applicant is a move-in from another Catholic high school and meets admissions criteria).

Shadow Program

 

John Carroll's Shadow Visitation Program is an opportunity for prospective students to learn more about everyday life at JCCHS by shadowing with a student ambassador.

Financial Assistance

 

John Carroll Catholic High School wants to offer a Catholic education to as many families as possible. Therefore, financial assistance is available to those families who have chosen a Catholic secondary education for their children, but whose financial resources are such that they cannot afford the total cost of tuition. Applications for financial assistance are available to registered students in the Office of Admissions.
