Incoming 9th Grade Students 2010-2011

Thank you for your interest in John Carroll Catholic High School. John Carroll accepts incoming 9th grade students as space permits. We welcome you into the John Carroll community and invite you to apply for admission.

As an incoming 9th grade student, please follow the procedure listed below:

To Apply For Admission

  • Download forms (Application for Admission, Math Teacher Recommendation Form, English Teacher Recommendation Form, Counselor/Principal Recommendation Form, Request for Records)
  • Fill out Application for Admission and return to Office of Admissions at John Carroll Catholic High School with application fee of $50.00. Please include a current school photo of applicant.
  • Recommendation Forms and Request for Records should be distributed to applicant’s current school. Current school will send completed forms to John Carroll Catholic High School.
  • Student must take the John Carroll Catholic High School placement test (by appointment).

Admissions Criteria

Each applicant is thoroughly reviewed to ensure John Carroll Catholic High School fits the needs of the applicant. Through a selective admissions process, we base our decisions on these criteria:

  • Overall middle school record (academic, behavioral and attendance)
  • Recommendations of middle school principal and teachers
  • Results of the John Carroll Catholic High School placement test
  • Personal interview with Admissions Committee member
  • Applicant’s commitment to John Carroll Catholic High School

It is highly recommended that an applicant for the 9th grade take the placement test on scheduled test date to ensure inclusion in the upcoming freshmen class. Applicants whose forms are not complete or have not tested will go on a waiting list.

For additional information, contact John DeRulle, Director of Admissions, at jderulle@jcchs.org
