We are currently accepting applications for the 2010-2011 school year. The last day to begin classes will be Friday, August 27th.

Incoming 9th Grade Students 2010-2011


Thank you for your interest in John Carroll Catholic High School. John Carroll accepts incoming 9th grade students as space permits. We welcome you into the John Carroll community and invite you to apply for admission.

 

As an incoming 9th grade student, please follow the procedure listed below:


To Apply For Admission

 

  • Download forms (Application for Admission, Math Teacher Recommendation Form, English Teacher Recommendation Form, Counselor/Principal Recommendation Form, Request for Records)
  • Fill out Application for Admission and return to Office of Admissions at John Carroll Catholic High School with application fee of $50.00. Please include a current school photo of applicant.
  • Recommendation Forms and Request for Records should be distributed to applicant’s current school. Current school will send completed forms to John Carroll Catholic High School.
  • Student must take the John Carroll Catholic High School placement test (by appointment).

 

Admissions Criteria


Each applicant is thoroughly reviewed to ensure John Carroll Catholic High School fits the needs of the applicant. Through a selective admissions process, we base our decisions on these criteria:

 

  • Overall middle school record (academic, behavioral and attendance)
  • Recommendations of middle school principal and teachers
  • Results of the John Carroll Catholic High School placement test
  • Personal interview with Admissions Committee member
  • Applicant’s commitment to John Carroll Catholic High School

 

It is highly recommended that an applicant for the 9th grade take the placement test on scheduled test date to ensure inclusion in the upcoming freshmen class. Applicants whose forms are not complete or have not tested will go on a waiting list.

Transfer Students

 

Thank you for your interest concerning a transfer to John Carroll Catholic High School. John Carroll accepts transfer students as space permits. Senior transfers are not accepted (unless the applicant is a move-in from another Catholic high school and meets admissions criteria).

 

As a prospective transfer student, please follow the procedure listed below:

Shadow Program

John Carroll's Shadow Visitation Program is an opportunity for prospective students to learn more about everyday life at JCCHS by shadowing with a student ambassador. Shadow days are by appointment only and must be authorized by both prospective family and John Carroll Catholic High School.

Christian Youth Exchange & John Carroll Catholic High School -

 
The 2009-2010 school year marked the return of Christian Youth Exchange (CYE) to John Carroll Catholic High School. Three exchange students from Germany attended John Carroll during the 2009-2010 school year and had a great experience.
 
Christian Youth Exchange's representative is Martin Schulz, who has been John Carroll's contact with CYE since the program's inception. This year (2010-2011), CYE is seeking host families for three (3) students wishing to attend John Carroll Catholic High School. For more information regarding these students, you may contact Mr. Schulz:
